Second Tyme Around Thrift Shoppe, located on Downey Avenue in downtown Downey since 1966, is the chapter’s major ongoing fundraising activity. It’s staffed entirely by volunteer members of Assistance League of Downey on a year-round schedule.
Proceeds from the shop fund Operation School Bell, H.O.M.E., Christmas Distribution, the chapter’s dental program, and scholarships for local high school students.
We welcome donations of gently-used clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, linens, books, collectibles, small household items, and furniture. We’re unable to accept computers, computer parts, mattresses, cribs, or large appliances.
